Live a day in the chinampas, floating gardens made hundreds of years ago by our ancestors.

We've partnered with locals to show you a magical spot immersed with history, culture and traditions: San Gregorio Atlapulco, Xochimilco.

This town preserves the most beautiful traditions, carnivals and religious celebrations. Take a trip to the bowels of one of our most important pre-Hispanic vestiges. Get ready to travel back in time to the ancient Mexico.

This is much more than a tour, this is a unique experience that you can only access with us. One of the best this you can do when visiting CDMX.

What we'll do

Visit the real chinampas

Exclusive access to secret canals

On a traditional canoe we'll glide trough secret canals, called the Chinampas, the last “living” pre-hispanic site in Mexico City. There, our dear friends the Chinamperos, will take you back in time, gliding along beautiful canals exclusive for the farmer's use.

Try an amazing sampler of locally sourced food.

After the canoe ride, food will be ready with a great tasting at the farmer's market, where everybody cooks with ingredients from the local gardens and nearby communities. A truly unique gastronomical exploration, with the most exquisite local recipes.

  • Hana says:

"Must do if you are interested in sustainable agriculture, Mexico City’s history, and delicious authentic Mexican food! I felt like this was the single most authentic and culturally enriching tour we did on our trip, would come back just to hang with Sergio 😊 amazing alternative to the party boats that are just next door if that is not your vibe."

  • Ira says:

"...This tour takes you away from the crowds and off the beaten track into the history of food production in Xochimilco. Sergio took very good care of us from the time we met him in Colonia Roma till the end of the tour. (...) We enjoyed all of it, the pulque, the tlacoyos, the gorditas, the fresh mango and the company.

    Highly recommend!"

  • Dorothy says:

"This experience exceeded our expectations. (...) Sergio has so much knowledge, respect and passion for this very special farming community. He knows all the locals and they appreciate him. We attended with our 11 and 13 year olds boys and they were engaged the whole time.

    Thank you.
